Here in Albuquerque, New Mexico there are prickly pear plants everywhere.
I have a massive one in my back yard - my garden is xeriscaped so it fits in perfectly.
They have the most amazing blooms, mine are a bright pink and I look forward to them bursting forth  each summer. 
 
They made such an impression on me that since I 2019 I've been making a soap called Queen of the Desert using Prickly Pear Seed Oil and with the pretty little prickly pear motifs on the face of each bar. 
 
Apart from being a lovely soap to use, they are also pretty as decor, or as a unique gift.
 
INGREDIENTS
Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Water, Canola Oil, Organic Prickly Pear seed Oil, Castor Oil, Organic Shea Butter, Organic Cocoa Butter, Sodium Lactate, Citric Acid, Skin safe colorants. The prickly pear cactus are Glycerin Soap
